SPRING RIDES IN THE SEMI DESERT UDABNO GEORGIA 2026
We begin our horseback journey at the edge of pristine nature reserves and national parks. This six-day spring trekunveils spectacular scenery, hidden trails, and ancient monasteries dating back to the 6th century — some still inhabited, others abandoned and silent.
Along the way, we meet shepherds tending their spring pastures and monks who live or once lived in the cave-dwelling cities. We ride across the vast Udabno desert, through eroded red mountains, and explore centuries-old caves. The route takes us over expansive plateaus and ridges, past ghostly Soviet collective farms, and through landscapes bursting with wildflowers and fresh spring colors. Every day brings new and unexpected surprises.
Our companions are the Tush horses, a hardy local breed from the Caucasus Mountains, perfectly suited to this rugged terrain. Most of the journey unfolds far from tourist trails, offering an authentic immersion in the raw beauty and history of the region.
